About Harrogate Harriers & AC
Harrogate Harriers & Athletics Club was formed in April 2000 by the merger of Harrogate AC and Imperial AC. Imperial took its name from the fruit shop on Royal Parade where its runners met, while today's red, black and gold kit marks the combined club. The North Yorkshire club competes on road, fell and track and organises the Run Harrogate 10K.
Senior training is based around Harrogate Squash and Fitness Centre, with coached efforts, social runs and longer outings on the programme. Adults are advised to be comfortable running continuously for thirty minutes, and the membership team can discuss preparation or a trial period. The junior section caters for school years five to thirteen, with cross-country and track and field competition. Junior sessions are allocated by invitation according to age, experience and capacity, so families should arrange a taster first.
