About Hamworthy Harriers

Hamworthy Harriers was established in 1986 and has built its identity around running with an active social side. Based at the Hamworthy Club on Magna Road near Wimborne in Dorset, England, the group welcomes adults of varied abilities. Its own running-section page distinguishes the Harriers from the other sports and venue services offered by the wider complex.

Monday evening runs leave the club at six, with routes starting from around four miles and an opportunity to meet in the bar afterwards. Other evening and Sunday outings are arranged separately. Members take part in road races from short distances through marathons and beyond, parkruns, team relays and, for some, canicross. A club challenge links race and parkrun participation with an end-of-year social presentation.

Membership offers first- and second-claim arrangements and includes England Athletics affiliation. The club explicitly does not cater for under-eighteens. New runners should contact the Harriers' secretary or chairman to discuss the group, current fees and an appropriate first outing. Those running-specific contacts are separate from the complex's reception, room-booking and events staff.
