About Hamwic Harriers Running Club
Hamwic Harriers Running Club is based in Southampton, Hampshire, England, with Southampton Common central to its weekly running. Members train for road and cross-country events as well as running for company. The club takes part in local league running, including Hampshire competitions and the RR10 and CC6 series.
Wednesday coaching usually meets by the Hawthorns café on the Common, with some sessions using Southampton Sports Centre instead. Monday social runs gather near the Avenue end of Cemetery Road and split into suitable pace groups. Regular training generally assumes runners can already cover 5K continuously; separate Couch to 5K courses provide an entry point for beginners.
The club offers prospective members three trial sessions and asks newcomers to get in touch first. Its website and official social accounts carry session updates, so the meeting point should be checked before travelling. Club life also reaches beyond training: members help at Southampton parkrun and support one another at local races.
