About Fleet & Crookham AC
Fleet & Crookham Athletic Club was founded in 1960. Peter Driver, the 1954 Commonwealth six-mile champion, moved to Fleet and became club secretary, helping establish its place in local running. The memorial races held after his death developed into today's Fleet 10K and 5K, and the club added the Fleet Half Marathon in 1982. Volunteers remain central to those races and to the club's weekly programme.
In 2025 the Hampshire club moved to a new home at Crookham Park, supported by Church Crookham Parish Council. Training includes road, trails, track and field events, with sessions also using the Garrison Track. Junior athletes aged eight to seventeen join through a waiting list and scheduled intakes rather than an unrestricted drop-in. Adults, coaches and volunteers can use the club's online membership and enquiry routes to find their place.
