About Esk Valley Fell Club
Esk Valley Fell Club brings together recreational and competitive fell runners in north-east England. Its training calendar moves between locations around the North York Moors, including Great Ayton, Kildale, Swainby and Newton-under-Roseberry, rather than using a single clubhouse as the start of every run.
Tuesday sessions offer steady and faster off-road groups, while Monday outings provide a slower social or recovery option. Distances, climbing and minimum ages differ between groups. The 2026 programme specifies clothing and equipment requirements for hill conditions, with head torches needed as evenings darken. Newcomers should read those instructions and contact the club before attending.
Membership includes adult and junior categories, with associate membership available to younger children whose parent or guardian belongs to the club. These membership categories do not automatically confer access to every training group. The club also supports the Dave Parry race series, and publishes separate contacts for membership, training and race enquiries.
