About Erewash Valley RC
Erewash Valley Running Club traces its beginnings to Chilwell badminton players who took up running after the early-1980s marathon boom. They formed the Chilwell Olympians in 1982, then adopted the Erewash Valley name after moving to Friesland Sports Centre and taking on a local half marathon.
Today the club meets at Sandiacre Town Football Club in Derbyshire, England. Road, cross-country and fell running form part of its activities, with members also tackling longer mountain events. Internal challenges such as the Dream Mile, pairs competition and Race against the Tram give the calendar a distinct local character.
Runners aged 16 and over can try four sessions before joining. Wednesday club nights gather ahead of the evening run, with the clubhouse providing a social meeting place afterwards.
