About Ellesmere Port RC
Ellesmere Port Running Club was established in 1986 as Rivacre Runners and Joggers. Based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England, it combines regular road running with cross-country and multi-terrain competition, drawing on nearby countryside as well as routes through the town.
Tuesday and Thursday club nights start from the Whitby Sports & Social Club. Runners meet before the advertised departure time and choose from different distances. The social side extends beyond those evenings, with club trips, team events and participation in the Welsh Castles Relay featuring in its account of club life.
New members should normally be able to run five kilometres; the separate Couch to 5K programme provides an option for beginners. The website explains first-claim and second-claim membership and the requirement to join the Whitby Social Club as well. A public club email and contact form allow prospective runners to check the next suitable session.
