About Eden Runners
Eden Runners was formed in Penrith, Cumbria, England, in 1996. Its founders wanted a club closer to home than Keswick or Carlisle, and chose blue and green to represent the River Eden and surrounding fells.
That landscape shapes the programme. Winter Wednesday runs start from Penrith Rugby Club, while lighter evenings take groups into the countryside, Pennines and Lakeland fells. Monday fell sessions, speed work and social runs sit alongside road, trail and cross-country competition. The club organises the Haweswater Half Marathon, Blencathra Fell Race and Acorn Bank 10K.
Eden helped establish Penrith parkrun in 2014 and developed Ready2Run Eden in 2016 for beginners and returning runners. Its junior section provides another route into the sport, although some age groups have waiting lists. Prospective adult members can arrange up to three guest sessions with the membership secretary before joining.
