About Dulwich Park Runners
Dulwich Park Runners traces its beginnings to a 1982 Sunday Times fitness experiment for people over thirty. The group became a formal club in October 1984, initially meeting at Camber Lawn Tennis Club before moving to the Trevor Bailey Sports Ground in the 1990s.
Today the south London club uses that base opposite Dulwich Park in England for Tuesday social runs. An earlier group offers a steadier option, while Thursday coached sessions help members work on technique and fitness. The monthly Dulwich Dash handicap gives runners a regular personal challenge, and members also take part in summer league and cross-country events.
Beginners’ courses run in spring and autumn, providing another route into the club. Social events and fundraising, including support for the Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers, are part of its community life. Prospective members can arrange a trial through the club’s enquiry form before choosing a membership option.
