About Dudley Kingswinford RC
Dudley Kingswinford RC began in 1984 when Dr Dick Blackburn established a running section at Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Club. It remains based at the rugby club on Swindon Road in Wall Heath, near Kingswinford in England’s West Midlands.
Adult runners meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with groups covering different paces and distances. Sunday outings offer longer runs, and summer training includes sessions at the Dell track. The club’s beginners’ course builds towards the Gavin Tipper 5K, one of its own events alongside the DK 10K.
Club life includes a Grand Prix that recognises participation and volunteering as well as racing. Members also support local food-bank collections and litter picks. The Gavin Tipper event raises funds for Action Heart and remembers a former rugby player. New runners aged over eighteen can contact the running section directly to discuss a suitable group and the next beginners’ intake.
