About Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers

Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers trains at the Dell Stadium in Brierley Hill, West Midlands, England. Dudley Harriers began in 1924, growing from a former Tipton Harriers branch. The present name followed a merger with Stourbridge, Wordsley and District Harriers in 1963.

The Dell became its home in 1964. An all-weather track followed in 1987 and a clubhouse in 2000, giving the club a lasting base for sprints, endurance running, jumps and throws. Its history also records the establishment of a women’s section in 1936 and the work of early secretary Matt Weaver, who became its first life member in 1935.

Coaching takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with groups serving different events and stages of development. Children can start from age eight, but places depend on the relevant group and waiting-list arrangements. Families and older athletes should contact the club before attending so volunteers can explain availability and match them with a coach.
