About Drighlington Dynamos Running Club
Drighlington Dynamos Running Club grew out of Daniel Barnes’s ambition to make running accessible to more people in Drighlington, West Yorkshire, England. He launched the club in 2021, building a programme that welcomed walkers as well as runners.
England Athletics recognised that work at its 2024 Yorkshire and Humberside Volunteer Awards. The Dynamos won Club of the Year, while Barnes received the Club Leader of the Year award. The governing body’s account describes weekly community sessions, the development of run leaders and work to install defibrillators locally.
That award records a particular stage in the club’s development, rather than a current membership total or timetable. Prospective members should use the club’s listed RunTogether page to check available sessions and meeting points.
