About Driffield Striders
Driffield Striders was founded in 1983 in Driffield, East Yorkshire, England. The club caters for social runners and those pursuing race goals, with a walking group that also welcomes runners taking time away from running.
Adult club nights meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Great Driffield AFC clubhouse on Cemetery Lane. Lighter evenings bring away runs from nearby villages, using rural routes rather than staying in town. Winter cross-country and the Sledmere Sunset Trail are among the club’s activities, alongside social gatherings for members, families and friends.
The junior section has provided local sessions since 2005. Children aged eight to sixteen can try a taster before joining, with summer training on Driffield School’s grass track and winter sessions indoors. Junior dates are published separately and are not always weekly. Adults can contact the membership secretary or come to a club night; under-eighteens joining adult runs must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who runs with them.
