About Down Triathlon Club
Down Triathlon Club was established in 2019 in County Down, Northern Ireland. It serves Downpatrick and the surrounding area, with pool swimming, road cycling through County Down and running at Downshire and Dunleath playing fields. The club's website records its Triathlon Ireland Club of the Year award in 2023. Newcomers train alongside experienced triathletes, with the programme supported by volunteer officers and coaches.
The Down Tigers junior section began in 2022, adding coached swimming, cycling, running and transition practice. Junior sessions use several locations, often the grounds of Downshire Estate, and have separate booking and safeguarding arrangements. The club's general and junior pages give different age ranges, so families should confirm eligibility directly before registering. Adult and junior sign-up links, the current programme and the club's public enquiry routes are available through its website.
