About Derwent Valley Trail Runners
Derwent Valley Trail Runners is based in Dipton, County Durham, England. Its programme centres on the trails of the Derwent Valley, combining regular group running with the Red Kite Race and DVTR Relays.
Tuesday sessions work on aspects such as speed, endurance, strength and technique. Thursday runs take a more social approach, exploring local trails together at a conversational pace. Most adult sessions start outside Dipton Surgery on Front Street, although occasional away runs use different meeting places. Newcomers are encouraged to try several sessions before deciding on membership.
The junior group meets separately at the Front Street football field. Its leaders use both the field and nearby trails for running activities and group sessions. Families and prospective adult members can use the club’s enquiry form or public email to confirm arrangements. Checking the calendar before travelling is particularly useful for away runs and seasonal events.
