About Denby Dale Athletics Club
Denby Dale Athletics Club began as the Denby Dale Travellers in the early 1980s, when friends gathered for runs around the village. Based in West Yorkshire, England, the club now caters for road, trail, fell and cross-country runners, including people preparing for marathons and ultras.
The senior section, for ages sixteen and over, meets at the George Inn in Upper Denby on Tuesdays. Summer routes make use of local footpaths; members also arrange structured training and longer outings. Team opportunities include local boundary relays and West Yorkshire cross-country competition.
A junior section launched in April 2015, supported by West Yorkshire Sport and Kirklees Council. Its eight-to-sixteen programme at Shelley College develops running, jumping and throwing through Athletics 365. The published junior page reports a waiting list, so families should contact the coordinator before attending. Adults can enquire about an introductory run and use the separate senior membership form.
