About Datchet Dashers
Datchet Dashers began with parents jogging while their children trained at Churchmead School in Datchet in 1980. The club was formally established in 1981 and later moved to Windsor, Berkshire, England, making Home Park its base in the late 1990s.
The club helped establish local summer 5K and cross-country league competition. Its first chair, Jasmine Flatters, later chaired British Triathlon and received an MBE for services to triathlon. That history sits alongside a present-day programme of coached sessions, group runs and social activity.
Training starts from the clubhouse near Windsor Cricket Club on Romney Lock Road. Tuesday coaching is the recommended introduction for newcomers; Thursday routes provide longer group running, with a tail runner to help keep the group together. Membership is for adults aged eighteen and over. Prospective Dashers can contact either club captain to arrange a trial and confirm the current meeting time.
