About Cobh Triathlon Club
Cobh Triathlon Club began in 2011 with a small group of aspiring triathletes in the County Cork harbour town. A juvenile section followed in 2023. The club is closely associated with Jailbreak, a standard-distance triathlon whose swim starts at Spike Island, but its training also welcomes members who prefer to focus on just one or two of the sports.
Pool and open-water swimming, group cycles and track running sit alongside practical sessions on transitions, bike handling and maintenance. Groups are organised by ability, with training updates shared through club communications. Membership is arranged through Triathlon Ireland by selecting Cobh TC. Anyone wishing to train must be a current member unless the committee agrees otherwise in advance, so prospective members should use the public club email rather than assume a drop-in session is available.
