About City of York AC

City of York Athletics Club brings a wide range of athletics together at the University of York in York, England. Its volunteer-led programme covers sprints, jumps, throws and distance running, alongside road, cross-country, trail and fell running. Training starts from School Year 6, with opportunities for senior and masters athletes and an established disability athletics group. The club is a registered charity and relies on members who help with coaching, officiating, events and administration.

New athletes should contact the membership secretary before visiting so the club can identify a suitable group. Two taster sessions are offered when capacity allows, but younger athletes may need to join a waiting list. Parents or guardians should make enquiries for under-eighteens. Training times vary by event, age group and season, so the university sports-centre address is a starting point for enquiries rather than a promise that every squad meets together.
