About City of Hull AC

City of Hull AC was formed in 1970 when Hull Harriers and Hull Achilles joined forces. Its roots reach further back: the club history traces Hull Harriers' first cross-country run to North Ferriby in November 1882. English international 800-metre runners Bob and Pam Piercy were among the athletes who became members at the merger. The Ferriby 10, Champagne League and Wolds Way Relay also feature prominently in the club's account of running in Hull and East Yorkshire, England.

Today's programme offers road and cross-country runners several ways to train together. Sessions use places including Haltemprice Leisure Centre, Costello Stadium, the Humber Bridge and Welton, with off-road running changing through the seasons. Runners can try a couple of sessions before joining. The membership secretary is the best starting point for choosing a suitable group; the committee also publishes a shared enquiry address. Costello is a training venue, not the meeting point for every club run.
