About Chester Road Runners
Chester Road Runners began in late 2012 when Louisa Hallas brought beginners together for Sunday runs at Chester Racecourse. The group moved to Westminster Park in spring 2013 and developed into an England Athletics-affiliated club serving Chester and the surrounding Cheshire area in England. Supporting people new to running remains an important part of its work.
The main Wednesday session meets at the Westminster Park car park on Hough Green. Six groups accommodate different running speeds and experience, from newer runners to established competitors. The club’s published aims also include track running, cross-country opportunities and race walking, alongside its road-running programme.
Volunteer run leaders support regular sessions and ten-week Couch to 5K courses. New members can register for a four-week trial of the ordinary club sessions; the beginner course has separate arrangements. Training notices and social outings are shared through members’ Facebook groups, and the contact page routes enquiries to the club or membership secretary.
