About Chester Le Street & Dist AC
Chester-le-Street & District Athletics Club was formed in 1977 by Kenneth Wright, Bob and John Tinkler, and Derek Reay, who had previously belonged to Elswick Harriers. It has since offered local athletes a route into training and competition at county, regional and national level. The club is based at Riverside Sports Complex beside Durham's cricket ground in Chester-le-Street, England.
Volunteer coaches work with young people from age eight through to adults, covering running and track and field events. Tuesday and Thursday sessions give newcomers a chance to try the sport, with the first session free before the club's normal session and membership arrangements apply. Parents and other supporters can get involved as coaches, officials or helpers, too. The shared enquiries email and website contact form are the best starting points for questions about a first visit.
