About Burnley AC
Burnley Athletic Club is a volunteer-run athletics club based at Barden Track in Burnley, Lancashire. Its history page describes the move from a cinder track to a synthetic all-weather surface in 1998. Today the programme brings together sprints, hurdles, jumps and throws with endurance running and cross-country, and members compete in leagues including Mid Lancs, Red Rose Cross Country and Northern Masters.
New athletes can ask about two taster sessions before joining. Junior development introduces a range of skills, while older athletes have event-specific coaching groups. The website currently has a waiting list for under-12s, so families should enquire before turning up. The club asks all visitors to contact its shared enquiries email first, allowing a coach to be available at Barden Athletics Track on Barden Lane.
