About Burgess Hill Runners
Burgess Hill Runners was formally launched on 4 November 1993, after local runners met to discuss creating a club for the West Sussex town. Its first home was an unlikely one: the showers at Sydney West Sports Centre. The club grew through several venues and became involved in the West Sussex Fun Run League. Its history includes the Blackcap Handicap, the Downs Link relay and a beginners' programme introduced in 2009.
The present programme in Burgess Hill, England, ranges from beginners and improvers to advanced runners, alongside walking and daytime groups. Winter sessions use local roads and include track visits to Lewes; summer running makes use of surrounding footpaths. Meeting points change weekly and sessions are booked through Coacha, so the old Dunstall Avenue directory address should not be used as a training destination. Email the shared club address for help registering and choosing a group that matches your current running distance.
