About Brown Shoes TC
Brown Shoes Triathlon Club started in 2017 after friends met through Try a Tri programmes at the Valley Leisure Centre in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. Its coaches include members who developed from beginners into long-distance triathletes. Pool sessions use the Valley Leisure Centre and Antrim Forum, while cycling changes with the season: outdoor rides in better weather give way to virtual cycling and spin sessions during colder months.
The club offers three trial sessions and asks swimmers to be able to complete about 250 metres front crawl before joining its pool groups. Anyone not yet at that stage can contact the club to discuss options. Membership is arranged through Triathlon Ireland by selecting Brown Shoes TC. Although running is part of triathlon, the detailed training page says the club does not currently organise regular group runs; members run independently or with local running clubs. Confirm the discipline and venue when booking a trial.
