About Bromley Veterans AC
Bromley Veterans Athletics Club grew out of a group of Bromley Ladies AC members who wanted more opportunities to compete together as veterans. In September 1989, around fourteen women left to establish a mixed club. Blue and gold became its colours, and men joined the original group during the first year.
Today the club is based at the Parklangley Club in Beckenham, Greater London, England, and welcomes people aged thirty and over, from beginners to experienced competitors. Road running, cross-country and track and field sit alongside organised training and social activity. The clubhouse provides changing facilities and somewhere to meet after runs; access to its gym requires separate membership.
New runners can contact the membership secretary to arrange a visit and discuss a suitable group. The club’s calendar covers weekday and weekend activity, and its history records anniversary fundraising for local and national charities. Its present Beckenham base is distinct from the Norman Park and Bromley Town Squash Club meeting places described in its early history.
