About Bourton Roadrunners Club
Bourton Roadrunners was formed in 1981 in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, England. The Cotswold village is the club's home, with its leisure centre providing the main starting point for adult evening runs. The club organises the Bourton 10K, Bourton Mile and Bourton Half Marathon and supports charities through race proceeds and members' fundraising.
Adult sessions include social runs, speed work and Beyond C25K groups, with additional morning runs and changing meeting points. The separate junior section trains on the Cotswold School grounds and welcomes children from age seven. A parent or guardian must stay with any child under eleven, and junior taster sessions require advance registration.
Adults are welcome to try several runs before joining. Juniors can attend registered taster sessions for up to four weeks before taking out membership. The club publishes route maps and a monthly schedule, useful for checking which venue applies. Among its documented endurance fundraisers is Neil Russell, whose 2021 John O'Groats-to-Land's-End challenge raised money for Parkinson's UK.
