About Blackwater Triathlon Club
Blackwater Triathlon Club began in late 2007 when a group of triathletes came together in Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland. The club serves north and east Cork and describes links with local swimming, cycling and running clubs as part of its development. It welcomes beginners as well as athletes with substantial racing experience.
Organising events has been part of that story from the start. Its first triathlon took place on 31 August 2008 and attracted 350 participants, according to the club’s account. More recent event programmes have offered different distances and an introductory Try a Tri, giving local competitors more than one way into the sport.
Membership is available throughout the year, and the joining page publishes a club enquiry email. The website also carries training information, but prospective members should confirm the current sessions and venues directly. Fermoy is the club’s base; the race location should not be confused with a permanent postal or clubhouse address.
