About Belper Harriers
Belper Harriers makes good use of the roads, paths and hills around Belper in Derbyshire, England. Its adult programme includes road and off-road running, fell races, club championships and the Derwent River Relays. Tuesday groups are organised by pace and distance. In summer they head onto local trails; winter brings road routes and a separate programme of torchlit pub runs. Monthly summer handicaps add a different sort of contest, with staggered starts intended to bring runners home together.
The club's usual Tuesday road meeting point is Belper Market Place, but it explicitly asks runners to check the calendar because locations change. Thursday sessions work on speed, with a monthly track visit to Rutland Sports Park in Ilkeston. Newcomers aged 18 or over can try several sessions before joining, after filling in the new-runner form. The public contact page provides both general and welfare forms. A committee member's interest in swimming or triathlon is not treated as a separate club programme.
