About Bedford Harriers AC
Bedford Harriers Athletic Club began in 1985, when a small group came together to organise the Bedford Marathon. The Bedford, England, club developed beyond that original race into a community for road runners, cross-country competitors and multisport athletes.
Bedford International Athletics Stadium on Barkers Lane is its regular base. Monday and Wednesday evening running groups offer different paces, while Friday activities include track work and circuit training. The club also takes part in the Three Counties Cross Country League, providing a team setting for winter running away from the roads.
Organising events remains central to its life. The Doug Anderson 5K, Oakley 20 and Bedford Triathlon are among the events described by the club. Members’ marshalling and other volunteer work help support coaching and equipment. New runners can contact the general enquiry team to discuss an appropriate group and check the current joining and session arrangements.
