Albertville Harriers began in 1919 among young men attending a Bible class at the Albert Hall on Belfast’s Shankill Road. Early premises were in Ardoyne Village. The club history recalls trophies and records being stored in a coal shed when members were mobilised in 1939, preserving part of its story through the war.
Later homes included Olive Street, community halls and Ballysillan Leisure Centre. The North Belfast club welcomes beginners and experienced runners and is affiliated to Athletics Northern Ireland. Training uses different locations for road, hill and track work, so prospective members should confirm the current meeting point through the club’s published contacts.
