About Buttevant A.C.
Buttevant Running Club is based in Buttevant, County Cork, Ireland, and is listed by Athletics Ireland as Buttevant AC. The national directory identifies it as a senior club, with training based at Buttevant GAA Club on Station Road. Prospective members can contact the club directly about its current running groups and meeting times.
Its four-mile road race is an important part of the club’s public activity. The organiser’s 2026 race information celebrated ten years since the club formed. The event used a loop around Buttevant, finishing near the GAA grounds, with post-race hospitality and prize-giving in the hall.
Buttevant also works with Mount Hillary AC, Dromahane Road Runners and Bweeng Trail Blazers through the Rebel Diamond League. The four clubs created the series to encourage support for one another’s races, with Buttevant hosting its final round in 2026. This gives the club a place in the wider north Cork road-running community as well as its home town.
