About Blackwater A.C.

Blackwater Athletic Club is based in Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland. Athletics Ireland lists Blackwater Community College as its training location. For families looking for local athletics, the club’s public enquiry address provides a direct way to ask about groups, places and the current timetable.

The club has also worked beyond its own training sessions. In 2020, Waterford Sports Partnership teamed up with Blackwater AC and Finisk Valley to develop Sportshall Athletics for first- and second-class pupils in seven local primary schools. Coaches and school representatives attended training before the planned programme was interrupted by the pandemic.

Blackwater subsequently helped support an athletics-at-home programme with Athletics Ireland and other Waterford clubs. The project used household equipment to introduce activities such as jumping and throwing. That recorded partnership is part of the club’s community history; current school activities and joining arrangements should be checked directly with Blackwater.
