About Ballymun A.C.
Ballymun Athletics Club was formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 2022 through the merger of Up the Flats Running Club, Ballyoung Running Club and Ballymun Triathlon Club. It became affiliated to Athletics Ireland and was ratified by the Dublin county board in February 2023. Its founding commitment was to remove the cost of participation for local children, with adult membership helping to sponsor juvenile places.
The programme includes a Fit4Kids nursery, juvenile track and field, development opportunities for more experienced young athletes, adult Fit4Life and training for distances from 5K to the marathon. The club also participates in cross-country and race walking. A September 2026 report celebrated the latest Fit4Life graduates and the volunteers who supported their progress.
Ballymun AC is campaigning for a dedicated 400-metre athletics track at Balcurris Park. Its September 2026 update describes that track as a future ambition, not an already-open facility. Contact the club or use its ClubZap membership pages for current training locations and available groups. The Aspen address in the national directory should not be read as the venue for every session.
