About Ballon Rathoe A.C.
Ballon Rathoe AC serves the Ballon and Rathoe community in County Carlow, Ireland. Athletics Ireland lists its training location at Ballinvalley, Ballon, while the club's own registration page presents it as Ballon Rathoe Community Games and Athletics Club. Children's athletics and local participation are central to its documented activity.
In a February 2025 statement, chairman Damien Malone described the contribution of secretary and coach Olive O'Byrne, who had helped expand membership and the range of events entered. Her work included an open athletics day attracting competitors from across Leinster. She received a Leinster Athletics Outstanding Contribution award that month for her wider service to the sport.
The club publishes membership and family options through ItsPlainSailing, alongside conduct guidance for athletes, parents and coaches. Athletics Ireland provides a separate joining and renewal route for athletics membership. Parents should confirm which registration is needed and ask about current training: the SLOT track notice still displayed on the club page dates from March 2019, not the present timetable.
