About Askern District RC
Askern District Running Club has brought runners together around Askern and Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England, since 1982. Road running is its main activity, alongside cross-country and fell racing. Members race in the South Yorkshire leagues and team relays, while the monthly club time trial ends with a social gathering at Norton Working Men’s Club.
Tuesday and Thursday runs leave Askern Leisure Centre in Campsall at 7pm throughout the year. Groups cover different distances and paces, and the centre provides changing rooms and showers. Prospective members can try a training night before joining. The club has no track and explains that road-based sessions are unsuitable for young children.
Askern’s race-organising history includes the Norton 9, Askern 10K and Askern 10-mile. Its current About page lists those events as postponed. A separate February 2026 announcement introduced the Bentley 5 Mile for May that year, marking a new chapter in the club’s local road-racing programme; check the club’s current notices for future editions.
