About Angels RC
Angels Running Club began in Gloucester, England, in 1988 when runner and triathlete Inger Baud recruited women through the Gloucester Citizen to train for a 10K. The newspaper called the group Inger's Angels. After their first race, the runners wanted to keep going; the group developed into an affiliated club with a lasting emphasis on helping women build confidence through running.
The club combines social running with opportunities to improve and race. Its eight-week Couch to 5K courses are designed for new or returning runners and finish with a local parkrun graduation. Friday improvers sessions focus on speed and stamina and are for members only. The club also organises the Angels 10K in Ashleworth, an event open to both men and women, distinct from the women's club membership.
Email the membership secretary to discuss joining or the next beginner course. Club membership includes England Athletics registration, with payment arranged through the governing body's system. Training venues depend on the session, so the Ashleworth race location should not be used as a general club meeting address.
