About Accrington Road Runners
Accrington Road Runners was established in 1985 to encourage running in the Hyndburn area of Lancashire, England. Forty years later, members marked the anniversary with a 40-mile relay. The club organises the Accrington 10K and maintains separate road, trail and fell points competitions, but racing is only one part of its purpose: fitness, company and enjoyment matter just as much.
Tuesday training starts from Accrington Cricket Club on Thorneyholme Road. Runners divide into four ability groups, with a typical session covering around 10K; newcomers can try a session before deciding whether to join.
