Tandoğan began his 2016 English Channel crossing at 22:05 and reached France at 12:55 the following day. The Catalina federation lists him and Kamil Resa Alsaran individually on the same date in 2017. New York Open Water also gives them separate rows and placings in 2018. Both were members of the six-person Brave Turks relay that crossed the English Channel and returned in 27 hours 2 minutes in 2017.

The English Channel swim on 30 August 2016 took 14 hours 50 minutes. The Catalina federation records 13 hours 1 minutes 38 seconds on 28 July 2017. In New York the 30 June 2018 Manhattan circuit took 10 hours 15 minutes 45 seconds.
