Jasmin Paris
Biography
Jasmin Paris is a British ultrarunner, veterinary researcher and co-founder of The Green Runners. Her achievements in mountain and endurance running include two landmarks that brought her recognition far beyond the sport.
In January 2019 she became the first woman to win the Spine Race outright. She completed the 268-mile winter race along the Pennine Way in 83 hours, 12 minutes and 23 seconds, breaking the previous overall course record by more than 12 hours. Paris was competing for Carnethy Hill Racing Club.
On 22 March 2024 she became the first woman to finish the Barkley Marathons in Tennessee. She completed all five loops with just 99 seconds remaining before the 60-hour limit, an achievement that followed earlier attempts at the exceptionally demanding event.
Beyond competition, Paris combines running with her veterinary work and environmental campaigning. Through The Green Runners, she helps encourage runners to consider how their travel, equipment and everyday choices affect the environment. Her story connects exceptional endurance with a wider sense of responsibility to the places where people run.
